Teaching & Learning Philosoply

My current teaching philosophy is:
“I believe that a lecturer or teacher should make a class a safe place for the students where they are free to share and contribute their ideas and thoughts and are given the opportunity to defend their ideas and thoughts. This can help to build the students confidence and to give them a sense of self-belonging in the class, and community that their say is as important as anybody else.

Everyone contributes as a student and teacher. Learning is a lifelong journey where I learn from students as much as they learn from me. I believe that we never stop learning and I want my students to know that I am also still learning, and we can learn from each other in many different aspects. I will incorporate hands-on activities, collaborative and active learning, and the use of technology in the learning processes.”

I still have a lot to learn and improve upon my teaching philosophy. It is a starting point to perfecting the concept of teaching. The most important output that I gained from the courses that I attended is as an educator, I should be able to adapt to changes and have the willingness to learn new skills in order to close any gaps, grow as a person and become up-to-date with the current trends that will keep on evolving at every generation.
